1. Surface Moisture Content Applying coating to a damp concrete slab is a recipe for peeling. Always ensure the moisture content is below 4% before starting. PZSSS recommends using a moisture meter to verify the substrate is dry enough for epoxy or polyurethane systems.
2. Proper Mechanical Grinding Smooth concrete lacks the “teeth” needed for paint to grab onto. Mechanical grinding or shot-blasting opens up the pores of the concrete. This ensures the PZSSS Primer can penetrate deep into the surface for maximum adhesion.
